Praying for Haiti

Praying for Haiti as I watch the horrific news video of the aftermath of the earthquake that rocked Haiti. It has left an estimated 3 million people in need of emergency aid according to Fox News.  Much of the world is reaching out to help in many different ways.  Very proud of the U.S. as we are leading out the Global Response.

American Idol Title

Was it really that hard to guess the winner between the two Davids? I mean seriously… Archuleta has an amazing voice, no doubt about it. However David Cook simply ROCKS! He took just about every song he performed and like a true artist, gave it his very own spin. Cook is truly a rock star in the making.

Pray, Pray, Pray

according to Fox News: HANWANG, China —
Nearly 26,000 people are still buried in earthquake debris and another
14,000 are missing after the massive earthquake that struck China’s
Sichuan province.

Less than two weeks ago Burma, was hit with a cyclone that has killed more than 60,000 people and tens of thousands more are expected to die due to disease. The earthquake in Hanwang, China killed at least 15,000 and many more are missing. Today I wake up to see that there is another Cyclone forming in the area of Burma that may cause a repeat of what happened the last time.

I know where I live, in South Florida, there are a lot people who are facing hard times. Many people are losing houses and jobs. Others are facing sickness, family crisis, and depression. Even as I type I can hear a siren behind me.

I’m still so proud of my Church, Church by the Glades, for the “Go Big” series. The Church gave out $40,000 to the congregation so they would in turn find someone in need to give the money to. What a great way to help people in need around us. A great way to practice generosity to those in our neighborhoods and towns. You can check out some of the stories at mygobigstory.com

With all that is going on, one thing I do know… God is in Control.

Holy God, be with those in China, those in Burma, and those around the world that are hurting. May people find you as they look for hope in what seems a hopeless world. Jesus come quickly.
